About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Planner to work across the HS2 project.

Role Purpose:

The planner will be instrumental in the day to day planning function of a Sub Lot. They will also be involved in:

  • Maintenance of working programme.
  • Day to day maintenance of the Clause 32 monthly programme.
  • Production of detailed Sub Lot programmes (in Synchro).
  • Monitor progress against plan and review with Planning lead.
  • Recording ofAs Built data.
  • To establish and maintain positive and effective relationships within the delivery team and sub-contractors.

What you'll be doing

  • Implement the planning responsibilities document.
  • Ensure compliance to HS2 requirements.
  • Capture and integrate current and forecast programme, budget, cost, and risk at asset and sub-asset level
  • Practice best practice and innovation
  • Assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve performance
  • Effectively using IT and systems as a key enabler for gathering and timely and accurate reporting on project performance
  • Live the BBV values
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Collaborative working

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Computer literacy:

- Primavera (all versions)

- Microsoft Project

- Word/Excel

- TiLOS

- Synchro

  • Report writing skills
  • Some site experience of which some must be in relevant disciplines and some as a discipline planner.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Aptitude for logic and attention to detail.
  • Some experience of planning & project control services within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry
  • An understanding of methods of project controls, planning and performance reporting
  • Knowledge of risk
  • An understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement
  • An understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements
