We’ve reached a major milestone on National Grid’s Littlebrook substation project in Dartford, Kent!
Since work commenced in June 2019, 5229 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been saved and once complete, the new 400 kV facility will enable two gigawatts of low carbon and renewable energy to flow – enough to power around 1.5 million homes.

We recently invited Plymouth City Council and SCAPE Group down to our Forder Valley Project for a special event showcasing some of the latest innovative technologies we’ve been implementing across our sites. The day, attended by SCAPE CEO Mark Robinson saw Balfour Beatty share its vision of ‘Site of the Future’ including electric plant machinery and special guest, ‘Spot’ the dog – our robotic new employee!


Our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team have now been appointed to all three of Programme and Project Partners (PPP)’ frameworks at Sellafield, the multi-function nuclear site in Cumbria. Using our expert capabilities and collaborative delivery approach, we will carry out mechanical and pipeworks alongside Doosan Babcock as part of its continued effort to support the decommissioning of the nuclear power facility over the next 18 years.
