Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Technology Electrician to join our team to work on multiple National Emergency Area Retrofit (NEAR) schemes on the M25, M3 & M20 as well as opportunities to work on further exciting highways schemes nationwide.

Role Purpose:

  • To be part of a team that is responsible for the Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSW) across multiple schemes;
  • Manage the work via site plans and digital platforms available. (Training is provided)
  • Undertake the works planned and set out by project requirements;
  • Manage Permit system and documentation in relation to ESSW;
  • Be hands on with a positive attitude towards robust processes and procedures.

What you'll be doing

As a Technology Electrician you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Support and promote a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver;
  • Support the Project Team to manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets;
  • Work constructively with Sub contractors and staff in the implementation of the project;
  • Support the Project team via your roles responsibility to proactively manage pro the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations;
  • Support the Project team in leadership of Zero Harm and drive for continuous improvement;
  • Collaborate relentlessly to ensure the resources are utilised in the most efficient way on your project;
  • Show clear and visible leadership and display the right leadership behaviours;
  • Support the project team to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly;
  • Be prepared and committed to ongoing Continuous Professional Development by undertaking both industry recognised and bespoke company training courses and content.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent;
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations;
  • City and Guilds 2391 - advantageous;
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills;
  • Be familiar with Single and 3 Phase electrical systems;
  • Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems;
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross functional teams towards solutions;
