What you'll be doing
As a Project Manager you will:
- Hold periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in
accordance with GBL - Ensure the team maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
Analytical Thinking & Decision Making - Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised
efficiently to ensure cost control - Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and
progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that
contractual arrangements are achieved - Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles
- Ensure reports provide relevant information which enable decisions to be made
which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy - Ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinated working Health Safety & Environmental
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications
- Experience of heavy Civil Engineering Projects
- Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to
build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team
where required - Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team
You will ideally hold one or more of the following:
- Formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or experience
equivalent - APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ
- CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
