What you'll be doing

As a member of the routine & reactive team the role is to work within teams ensuring the highways remain safe and well maintained by carrying out a wide range of tasks such as highway repairs, minor civils, gritter driving and emergency response.
This role is based within Telford and Wrekin operating from Granville House Depot.

Carry out highway repairs
Carry out minor civil engineering works such as brickwork repairs
Support the winter maintenance operation by driving a HGV gritter during winter months
Install and maintain traffic management
Support the emergency response team
Carry out point of work risk assessments for all tasks
Ensure that all Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Report any deficiencies in plant, equipment or damaged infrastructure

Who we're looking for

Essential
Experience of working within a highways maintenance environment
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work outside of normal working hours / be on paid standby
HGV C licence (Class 2) and CPC
CSCS
Street works (NRSWA Operative)

Desirable
Abrasive wheels
EUSR 1+2
Telehandler qualification
Traffic Management Sector 12D T1/T2 training
Manual Handling competency
