About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our expanding Quality Control Team based our of offices in Hereford. The role as a Trainee Quality Control Engineer will allow you to gain the essential skills and knowledge to progress within a growing industry.

The role covers the following:

  • To assure supply of materials meet client requirements and are right first time, ensuring a defect free delivery

What you'll be doing

As a Trainee Quality Control Engineer, you will support the wider QC Team to deliver a wide range of activities, these include:

  • Attending factory acceptance tests with QC team members and conducting inspections at suppliers to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled.
  • Assist with production of Manufacturing Assurance Plans
  • Assist with Production of appropriate reports and management information.
  • Alongside the QC Team generate and maintain records of Factory Acceptance Tests/Inspections.
  • Assist in the identification and control of non-conforming material, raising non-conformance reports as necessary.
  • Assist with investigation of root cause to ensure that suitable corrective actions plans are developed.
  • Support the collation of final quality records for the handover of assets to client.
  • Support establishment of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensure that all work practices comply with PT&D legal and statutory requirements relating to health and safety
  • Challenge existing systems and processes ensuring best practice and continual improvement
  • Contribute to the delivery of a continuous improvement culture

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Ability and willingness to travel and work with the existing QC Team this maybe at locations that are potentially overseas.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Observant and high levels of attention to detail.
  • Good English and Maths skills
  • Good IT skills (knowledge of MS Office 365 is an advantage)
  • Ability to work to deadlines.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
