Role Purpose:

  • To ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a range of specified projects under the direction of the Commercial Manager;
  • To provide guidance to other members of the Commercial/quantity surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all aspects relating to commercial activity on the specified projects.
  • To work closely with operational team ensuring commercial functions are carried out in line with the requirements of the business
  • Experiencing of working on projects in excess of 50m in a collaborative and engaging environment is essential.
  • Liaison with multiple stakeholders and good communication skills is a key aspect of this project, and you should be comfortable communicating at all levels within an organisation.
  • You will be working across both the Pre-Construction and Construction phases of the project, and a strong background in 2-stage tendering would be advantageous.

What you'll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:

  • Administer the contract across both the Pre-Construction and Construction stages of the scheme
  • Play an active part in the commercial settlement and business governance process, working with other project disciplines such as design, programme, finance, operations etc.
  • Ensure subcontracts are procured in a way that mitigates project risk
  • Work with our procurement teams to select the right specialists to undertake work packages
  • Undertake commercial activities to include applications, cost value reconciliations, managing variations and entitlements to recovery
  • Participate in risk management activities through the lifecycle of the project
  • Provide regular updates both internally and externally on costs, liabilities, margin and risk
  • Operate within the business delegated levels of authority and provide active commercial support to the Project Director and Senior Leadership Teams

Who we're looking for

We're looking for experienced professionals who want to come and work in an exciting and fast paced environment.

It is essential that you are comfortable in front of customers and project stakeholders and that you can communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels within a business.

You must be organised and work well in an environment that has tight deadlines and requires attention to detail. Analytical skills are a key requirement.

Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract would be advantageous, as would Tier 1 contractor experience.

You must be able to work well as part of a wide team and be comfortable working in the commercial, industrial and infrastructure buildings sector.
