About the role
We are looking for a talented Rail/Automotive/Plant mechanic to join our friendly Rail team in Horsham. Our team plays a vital role in providing seasonal treatment to maintain Sussex's railway network running on behalf of Network Rail.
Balfour Beatty operate a fleet of MPV's (Multi Purpose Vehicles) on behalf of Network Rail in the Sussex region.ADuring the Autumn and Winter seasons, these machines are utilised to prevent the accumulation of leaf material or ice, ensuring the safe and timely operation of passenger trains.

What you'll be doing
- Carry out a variety of tasks throughout the summer period based on a 35-hour week (Mon-Fri) ranging from servicing of the On-Track Machines to complete component overhauls including fault finding and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with the companys policies and procedures on SHEQ.
- Produce written reports on faults, repairs, maintenance, accidents and incidents.
- In the Autumn/Winter period we move into our busy delivery period and you will be a part of a team that provides 24/7 cover during the operational season, providing routine maintenance, fault finding and investigation work. Providing reliable and high-performing fleet to our customer.
Who we're looking for
- NVQ L2 in a maintenance or engineering Discipline
- Knowledge of heath & safety legislation/risk management
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work to maintenance programme timescales.
