About the role

This role sits within the Civil Works Programme and reports to the Temporary Works Manager, Delivery Directors and
Project Managers in the delivery of the Sizewell C.
The Civil Works Programme Temporary Works team has overall responsibility for programme and project temporary
designs.

- Temporary Works team and wider Civil Works Programme and wider PMO colleagues
- Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

What you'll be doing

The post holder will be accountable for:
o Viewing temporary works design briefs and manage allocation of work
o Able to undertake both repetitive and standard structural engineering /geotechnical calculations
o Prepare and deliver temporary Works designs, to time and budget
o Ensure all time Sheets are completed on time, and strive to achieve agreed recovery targets
o Provide technical support and contribute to methodology workshops, buildability sessions and VE
o workshops to identify, innovative, cost effective strategies and solutions
o Ensure design risks are considered and Design Risk Assessments are prepared
Ensure Design Risk Assessments are reviewed carefully if acting as a design checker
o Ensure contractual and procedural design assurance processes are followed
o Assist design assurance on projects through aiding audits, identifying best practice, areas for
o improvement and areas of concern
o Ensure good feedback from our customers is received and share improvements with the team
o Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers, managing their
o input in the design, development, pricing and delivery of technical solutions for site

Who we're looking for

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Masters preferred).
Relevant site experience (Typically 3-5 years), with a thorough knowledge of engineering principles
Achievement, or approaching, CEng MICE, or similar equivalent
Up to date CPD records
Desirable
Strong numerical capability and ability to assimilate data, review and report
Skilled in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and analytical software (Autodesk, Bentley
and others)
Has good report writing skills
Pays attention to detail and will see tasks through to completion
Has excellent communication and listening skills with all levels of personnel
Is a team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills
Is innovative and seeks continuously to improve knowledge and services
Current CSCS card
