Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor as part of the Connect Plus Services (CPS) team based in South Mimms, Leatherhead or Dartford.

Here at CPS we have an exciting opportunity to plan and deliver improvements projects around the M25 and adjoining network.

You will help us achieve the best outcomes for our network by delivering to time, cost and quality whilst supporting our wider objectives for zero harm and sustainability.

You will be working in our Central Procurement team, procuring subcontract packages for a range of different work streams including, Civils, Technology, IT, Maintenance and FM.

What you'll be doing

  • Identify procurement requirements alongside Operational Teams.
  • Update procurement register.
  • Draft Project Package Acquisition Plan (PAP) which includes:
    • Identify budget
    • Assisting with preparation of scope of works
    • Select appropriate form of subcontract
    • Identify particular T&Cs (Collateral Warranty, Performance bond, PCG, Designer Waiver etc.)
    • Programme of works/ key dates
    • Accreditations (NHSS, ISOs)
    • Sign off approval from relevant stakeholders.
  • Issue invitations to tender on eProcurement portal, Jaggaer.
  • Respond to tender queries.
  • Tender evaluation, scoring and final evaluation.
  • Pre-award meetings.
  • Subcontract drafting and approvals.
  • Ensuring commercial governance is followed.
  • Supporting audits.
  • And procurement reporting.

Who we're looking for

  • Good understanding of subcontract procurement experience
  • Experience of procuring subcontractors using NEC suite of contracts (ECC & TSC)
  • Detailed understanding of the operation of the NEC contract
  • Membership of a relevant professional body and/or working towards a relevant professional qualification is desirable, such as RICS/CIOB/InstCES
  • A valid CSCS card is required.
