Balfour Beatty is currently recruiting a Design Information Manager to join the Power T&D team based in Newcastle.

We are open to both full time and part time candidates (including job share), and offer a flexible working policy.

Responsible for establishing governance and assuring data and information flow to and from the common data environment BIM360 Docs / SharePoint

Creating and maintaining the BEP and IMP for the required Projects

The Information Manager will manage the Common Data Environment, ensuring all project information is available and up to date. They will encourage collaborative working, information exchange and provide assistance to the project team throughout.

This role requires a background / qualification in Design Engineering or Civil Engineering.

What you'll be doing

  • Attend all project meetings where necessary ; Information Management start up meeting held by the Information Manager
  • Creation and execution of the BEP and IMP
  • Work to the Project Information Plan and Asset Information Plan set out at project start
  • Assist Project Team Members in assembling information for Project Outputs
  • Managing the processes and procedures for information exchange on projects
  • Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
  • Maintain and receive information into the Information Model
  • Enable integration and co-ordination of information within the Information Model
  • Configure information for Project Outputs (BIM 360 Docs)
  • Populate the information exchange format for the Information Model
  • Accept reject information exchanges within the common data environment
  • Assure delivery of information exchanges
  • Confirm suppliers ability to deliver information requirements
  • Accept reject information exchanges within the common data environment - ensure compliance with agreed processes and procedures.
  • Validate compliance with information requirements and advise on non-compliance
  • Liaise with and co-operate with Project Team Members and the Employer in support of a collaborative working culture

Train on and assist in the implementation of our chosen CDE across the business

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Qualification in Design / Civil Engineering
  • Background and understanding of a variety of engineering projects and processes
  • Understands and has experience working with Information Control/Management
  • Experience creating and managing BEPs, IMPs and MIDP's
  • Experience managing information for a whole project lifecycle
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (OHL, Cabling, Substations, Civils)
  • Knowledge of BIM technologies/ software
  • Experience managing a CDE on a large-scale project
  • Experience working within a tender team
  • Familiar with BIM Level 2 specifications / standards
  • Excellent communication skills

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Experience using BIM 360 Docs
  • Experience creating training material
  • Experience Training individuals on software
