The role purpose:

To manage site construction activities from tender through to commissioning, taking ownership for the successful delivery of multi-discipline packages of work. To interface with the client on technical matters on behalf of the project manager. Deliver projects to time, budget, high quality and to the resource plan.

What you'll be doing

As a Signalling Construction Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Ensure correct tools, plant and equipment have been provided for the task
  • Comply with and promote health, quality, safety and environmental instructions and safety leadership by example
  • Effectively communicate task requirements to the on-site teams
  • Motivate staff in the team and any sub-contractors being used
  • Work towards gaining an IRSE Engineering Manager Licence (7.8.110B)
  • Maintain an IRSE logbook
  • Attend team, technical and safety briefs
  • Complete required paperwork for planned work
  • Review the site diary to ensure daily entries are added
  • Understanding of the national and company standards framework.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Understanding of the UK standards framework
  • Be able to recognise changes and be capable of highlighting them to the wider project team
  • Capable of writing reports and technical input to bids
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Formal training such as Intermediate Signalling Technology (IST)
  • Experience in undertaking risk assessments
  • Knowledge of the design and testing processes
  • Experience of health, quality, safety and environmental Regulations.
  • Basic computer operating skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Ability to drive
