Hinkley Point C is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years !! Based in Somerset it will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and career opportunities.

What you'll be doing

As a/an Construction Engineer(HVAC), you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Support the work pack Lead in the day-to-day production of Construction work packs and associated documentation.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various teams to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare full detailed description of the work required to be carried out from a given scope of work and specifications provided by customer and internal documents available for HVAC scope and associated equipment Installation works.
  • Work packs to include all site activities that need to be considered during installation, inspection, site testing and any specialist vendors works etc
  • Using of Switch application to create, monitor and update work packs
  • Report issues/concerns with upcoming tasks when they arise
  • Support Construction team with production of complex method statements in compliance with MEH procedures.
  • Qualified and approved to produce of task-based risk assessments in compliance with MEH procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard approach to quality with a Right first time goal.
  • Identify the requirement for specialist tooling and materials associated with the works listed in the Work pack.

Who we're looking for

Who we're looking for;

  • Time served in HVAC discipline / HNC in relevant engineering discipline or industry experience of creating work pack documents within a major infrastructure project-based environment
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks (or similar) and Microsoft Office suite of programmes
  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
  • Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards
