About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a/an CMPIC Engineer you will have the following accountabilities:

  • To provide engineering support for the cable installation activities.
  • To produce cable pull cards for the correct installation sequence of cables.
  • Support of master cable drum management schedule on CMPic.
  • To Provide CMPIC Support to Installation team
  • To Provide CMPic support to enable the change management system to be streamlined and effective pre and post cable installation.
  • To support the preparation of the specialist documentation from CMPic required to support the installation of the cables.
  • To support the preparation of area specific CMPic documentation to ensure the correct integration of the cable installation.
  • To Support and provide relevant information for the cable tracking system.
  • Provide support for the cable labelling system.
  • Interface directly with the cable routing team.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Relevant experience within cable management preferred, ideally in CMPic or other cable database, although training in CMPic will be provided
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Confident use of IT and MS Office software
  • This role would suit an individual keen to pursue a career in data analysis
  • Nuclear project experience and knowledge would be desired
