About the role

Join our Regional Civils team as a Quantity Surveyor in the East Anglia region and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry.
Purpose of the role:
- Manage all costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works
- Provide support to senior members of team in delivering varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain
- Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers
- Assist with commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
What you'll be doing
As a Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Adhere to the Companys GMCEs, BMS and other governance;
- Estimate, manage and final account various works of various sizes and values;
- Measure, record & value work supervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures;
- Seek out, locate and assemble pre and post contract documentation, complimented with the necessary administration skills;
- Be responsible for weekly and monthly works programmes;
- Awareness of different programme formats;
- Use the companys ERP System and BMS systems;
- Collation of Cost and Value Information;
- Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements;
- Collect information required to specify procurement requirements;
- Record and document information including registration of interest;
- Understand the steps / documentation required;
- Collation of cost and value information;
- Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors;
- Maintain a Personal Development Plan;
- Helps support development of others
Who we're looking for
Personal Qualities and Experience:
The following qualifications or equivalent are essential:
- Currently have or working towards a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- An organised, innovative and creative Quantity Surveyor
- Previous experience of managing costs and maximising value
- Experience of financial and commercial control within a project
- Experience of procuring and managing supply chain
- Experience of working as part of commercial teams
- Supports the development of others
- Membership of or working towards RICS
- Proven record of working to deadlines, working efficiently and to a high standard
- Experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed
